Galina from Kiev took loans for 70 thousand hryvnia (2500 US dollars) and gave them to the fraudster. KP in Ukraine tells her story.
- I still cannot forget the moment when my daughter called from Kiev and said: “Mom, I urgently need to tell you something important. I'm going home to the village, ”recalls Tamara, Galina's mother. - I say: “Lord, what happened, Galya? You are pregnant?" - "No ..." - "Do you have AIDS?" - "No ..." - "You were kicked out of your job?" “Mom,” the daughter replies. “Don't ask me anything. I'll come home, I'll tell you ... "
Strange bicycle theft
“I was ashamed to tell my parents that I was in such a mess: I fell in love with a marriage swindler,” Galya admits. - I met him at the moment when hooligans began to pester me at the bus stop. I called a taxi. The driver, his name was Pasha, scattered the hooligans, took me home, got my phone from the dispatcher and invited me on a date.
I liked Pavel. He achieved everything in life himself. He said that after burying his father, he dropped out of a law school in Kiev, began to go to work in Italy to support his sister and mother. We went on a trip to the Czech Republic (however, everyone paid for themselves), then we began to live together. Pavel had his own "odnushka" in Kiev. He said that the police officers he knew helped him buy housing for a pittance from some homeless people. “But I rented out that apartment,” Pavel said. - Let's rent our apartment. In half ”.
They began to live together. But one day an unpleasant incident happened. The couple in love drove to the park, and Pavel asked Galina to rent bicycles for her passport. After riding, the young people went to a cafe. Pavel fastened his bicycles and gave Galina the key. The girl also thought: “It's strange, why didn't he put the bicycles in the trunk, in our car, because she was standing nearby?”. And when he and Pasha left the cafe, it turned out that the bicycles were ... stolen.
Galina was called to the police several times. She also pulled the rental company, demanding a refund for the bicycles. Galya was waiting for help from Pasha, but he only “helped” with advice: “Learn to fight. This is the school of life ... You will be the last fool if you give money for bicycles. It's not your fault that they were stolen. ”
The guy constantly taxed: he left at 11 am, arrived at 3 am and immediately went to bed. He said that he had a lot of connections. Once he said that he had acquaintances at the bank and that he was ready to help arrange a preferential youth loan for Gala to buy an apartment. The first installment - 40 thousand hryvnia must be paid before the end of the month. But when the girl informed her parents about this opportunity, they said that they did not have that kind of money.
Then Pasha offered to transfer Galina's sister Alla from a Zaporozhye university to a Polish one. “I will give my friend three thousand dollars, and your sister will study for free in Warsaw for five years,” he promised.
- It seems that he was always looking for options on how to get money from his daughter, - says Tamara, Galina's mother. - She is a quiet, modest, defenseless girl. 26 years. Private school teacher. There is practically no experience of communicating with men. Alone in Kiev, her parents are far away, no one is behind her. Of course, she wants to get married, so she will value the relationship with a man, believe him. The perfect victim. He had already “rolled” one of his adventures on his daughter: he issued the bicycles rented for his daughter’s passport, simulated a robbery, and he himself, probably, stole them with some accomplice in order to sell them later.
I was sure: the money will give
- Once Pasha said that the new car he bought was arrested at the customs, and now you need to pay eight thousand dollars, - Galina recalls. - He asked me to get a bank loan so he could pick up the car. He explained that he could not take out a loan himself, since he did not have a permanent place of work and a work book. And I have a good salary and a permanent place of work. Pavel had two cars, which we drove, two garages, his own apartment in Kiev. And I decided to help, being firmly convinced that he would give the money. We are a couple ... True, Pasha did not ask for marriage. But in public, he sometimes represented him as a wife, showed tenderness.
Loans in the amount of 35 thousand hryvnia I issued for myself in two banks. In the first month, Pasha regularly paid loan installments. I asked Paul to design his car for me. I must have some money back guarantees, at least this pledge. But he said that design is expensive, and turned the conversation to another topic.
Taking 35 thousand hryvnia, for some reason he was in no hurry to get the car to customs. He explained that something was not working out for him. My soul was restless. “Let's pay off the loans,” I say. “They are already… invested in another car,” Pavel replied. "Don't worry, I'll give it all."
Once I received a message from another bank, where I also applied before, that they can provide a loan in the amount of 28 thousand hryvnia, since I am their regular client. I accidentally opened a text message with Pasha and read it. He seized on this offer, and we took out a loan there too. A week later, after I gave him the last "tranche" - 28 thousand hryvnia, Pavel said that he was offered a job in Tunisia as a driver. They allegedly promised to pay seven to eight thousand dollars a month. He said that he was flying there for a week to find out the working conditions and would return. I burst into tears: "What about my loans?" He reassured: they say, he will repay them, as promised.
Pasha flew away. Five days later he called and asked to send him 250 dollars. Allegedly can not go back. I, stupid, sent, after which he turned off all three of their mobile phones. By the code remaining in the mobile, I determined that the beloved called from the city of Sousse. This is the Mediterranean coast of Tunisia. They say a beautiful resort ...
Galya went to Pavel's mother in Nizhyn. There she found Paul's sister. She confirmed that her brother sometimes calls from Africa, and admitted that Galya is not the first girl who comes to look for Pasha. They exchanged phone numbers: Galya was waiting for news from Pavel's sister. And only when the sister began to drop calls, it dawned on the girl: she was simply “divorced”.
In total, her debt to banks totaled 63 thousand hryvnia. Plus interest for several months, about 7 thousand hryvnia. Plus the debt to the bike company for the stolen bicycles - $ 400. Plus $ 250, which she sent to Pavel on the road from Sousse to Kiev.

It was then that Galya phoned her parents in the Zaporozhye region, saying that she was going home to tell “something very important”.
- I remembered the numbers of Pasha's cars, but when we knocked them through the base, one of them was issued for a Kiev woman, the second - for a woman from Boryspil, - Galya continues. - We informed the police, although how can you prove the fact of fraud? I took the loan voluntarily, there were no receipts from Pavel.
The investigator said that I was not the first in this case, that he had a whole “folder” of deceived women.
- Her ex-boyfriend found out about Galina's misfortune, - says Tamara. - He just got married, but he and his new wife decided ... to borrow 32 thousand hryvnia for my daughter Galya from the donated money so that she could repay at least part of the loan. After all we have experienced, this example of nobility struck me to the depths of my soul. We received the rest of the money by selling my grandmother's house in the village.
“Everything is fine in my life now,” says Galya. - I'm dating a nice guy. Now I remember: how stupid she was! What was she thinking about? She didn't seem to love him so much. I just liked it. Everything was like a fog. Maybe hypnosis? I can't even remember our joint trip to the Czech Republic. Very vague memories. As if someone tried to erase all the details from memory.

“Galina became a victim of an idealized view of men,” explained the capital's psychotherapist Oleg Khomyak. - When her friends, worried that after the incident the girl had become depressed, brought her to my appointment, I asked her: what kind of relationship was she with her parents? Galya said that as a child she was very spoiled, loved. But if her daughter did not tell everything to her mother, fearing to make her angry and not justify her hopes, then she was very friendly with her father, next to him Galina had a feeling of calm and security.
The father instilled in his daughter such confidence in the world and men in general, that the girl formed the idea: "The father never betrayed - and the beloved will not betray ...". Such "greenhouse girls" often become victims of swindlers, since they take the position of children's trust, daddy's daughter. The girl does not analyze whether her father is acting correctly - she blindly trusts him. Therefore, in relations with men, father's daughter is not able to critically assess the situation, cannot see and feel how the intentions of a loved one are adequate and honest.
