Model Carissa Pukas believes that her breast implants have led to the development of a number of debilitating health problems. An 27-year-old woman enlarged her breasts in 2014, but after four years the implants were removed due to complications.

“I began to see objects vaguely, I felt like an old woman. My hips, back ached, and I had problems with digestion. I didn’t understand why at the age of 26 I seemed to live in the body of a 90-year-old woman. ”
The doctors whom Karissa consulted said that she did everything right and her tests were normal, but the model continued to feel bad. In addition, she had a strange smell of sweat - not the same as after the gym, the smell was metallic, acidic, fetid, and she could not understand why. The girl constantly ran to the shower, where she rubbed herself with a washcloth and scrub.
At night, everything worsened: so much sweating was added to the unpleasant smell that bed linen was then soaked. In the middle of the night, she woke up, got up, put a towel on top of her sheets, so that she could not sleep further in the wet.
And even that is not all. The chest pain was added to the symptoms of Carissa, excessive adrenaline secretion by the adrenal glands, clouding of consciousness, her urine began to smell strange, she had dizziness, hair loss began, and her skin was sprinkled with acne. The joints began to hurt and chronic diarrhea developed.
Later, Pukas found out that the autoimmune system of her body reacted in this way to a foreign body - breast implants - and tried to defend itself. The body does not understand which part of the body is foreign, so it begins to attack not only the implant, but also the natural capsule around it. The body is constantly fighting with itself. The woman had no idea that it could be connected. When the doctors told what was the matter, Karissa decided to remove the implants.
Now she is sharing her story, hoping that many women will think a little about what they are going to do when they place foreign bodies on their breasts. Pukas is not the only woman with whom a strange reaction to breast implants happened.
Emma Novotny underwent breast augmentation surgery in 2012, at the age of 21, and paid $ 10 for it. Three months later, the girl realized that something was wrong. At first she developed intolerances to certain foods, which she had never experienced before. Then came migraines, upper respiratory tract infections, night sweats and monthly bouts of severe tonsillitis. The local doctor first diagnosed irritable bowel syndrome due to food problems.
No one thought that the problem could be in the implants that Emma so dreamed of. But three years after the operation, everything became much worse.
“It was absolute hell,” says Novotni.
Her body, according to the young woman, began to “fall apart”: her periods disappeared, eczema developed, and lymph nodes increased. A girl who was involved in bodybuilding got to the point that she could not lift the weights with which she easily worked before.
Doctors most of the time ignored Novotni's questions about whether implants could be the cause of what is happening. She was tested for all kinds of irregularities. All this time, Emma's body attacked itself, which led, in addition to physical problems, to deep depression and a suicide attempt.
“I was a person I didn't recognize. I thought I was losing my mind, ”- says Emma.
Even though the implants were not damaged, Novotni thinks that silicone and other toxins were slowly released from the tiny pores in her implants, poisoning her and causing what is called "breast implant disease." And although medicine does not officially recognize this disease as scientifically proven, Novotni has become a member of the world movement, warning women of this danger.
In April, model Ricci Jess talked about how breast augmentation led her to a ten-year nightmare that was caused by implants. After removing them six months ago, Jess completely forgot about medications and pain. “It's not about the surgeons, it's about the implants.
