2 people killed by tornadoes in Louisiana

A powerful tornado swept through Louisiana. Power lines are broken, dozens of houses are destroyed. Exact damage is still calculated. Louisiana authorities reported two dead because of the disaster. Mother and daughter were in a motorhome, which a tornado tore off the platform and completely destroyed.

The US National Weather Service reported that the speed of the tornado was higher than 50 meters per second, the diameter of the funnel was about 20 meters. Louisiana Governor John Edwards warns that other devastating natural disasters like hail and floods are possible after a tornado. Now the wind power has dropped to 30 meters per second, serious destruction is no longer foreseen, but the authorities are asking state residents to stay in safe places.

According to the US National Weather Service, today, April 3, hurricanes and tornadoes can cover states from Mississippi to South Carolina. The highest level of tornado threat in southern Alabama.
