Kevin Walsh's love story from Indianapolis, Indiana and Blake Moore is very much like a Hollywood melodrama with a happy ending. He writes about it Huffingtonpost.
28 - Summer Kevin and Blake met at the Beir Lake Summer Bible Camp in Michigan when they were both 13 years old. Blake spoke to Kevin first during an archery competition.
“I thought - at least she was talking to me. She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, ”said Kevin.
During the holidays, they became friends, chatted nicely and exchanged addresses and contacts for good-bye. And a year later they met again on vacation in the same camp.
By inertia for some time they corresponded and kept in touch, as they lived in different cities. But as they get older, communication is less intensive, letters and calls are getting less and less. The guys spun a whirlwind of teenage life.
Although Kevin argues that not a single day passed when he did not think about Blake.
When Kevin was 18 years old, there was a crisis in his life, and he became depressed. He began to keep diaries and think about suicide. He says that at some point he looked at his wrists for a long time and thought that it would be nice to get even with life.
And in the most difficult moment, when he really stood one step away from an irreparable mistake, the phone rang.
“Probably at that moment I was 5 or 10 seconds from my own death. I was going to write a farewell note. But I heard the phone vibrate in my pocket. The call was from an unknown number, and I risked answering, ”says Kevin.
It was Blake. Up to this point, they have not communicated for almost a year. Blake herself says that at that moment she was on a school trip and something prompted her to call Kevin.
Blake asked what Kevin was going to do now and hearing the answer tried to dissuade him from such a rash decision.
“It was her. We did not speak for a year, and she called at the very moment when I was ready to let go of everything in this life, including hers. And only Blake could find the right words to stop me, ”says Kevin.
“I think it was a real example of the power of the universe that stepped in and brought us together at the right time. Every time I think about it, I get goosebumps, ”says Blake.
The guys talked a bit, and agreed to call the next day. Suicide abolished. And then Kevin made an entry in his diary, "Thank you for saving my life."
Over the years to come, Kevin’s diary entries on Blake accumulated and at some point he realized that he had to tell her all this personally. After that memorable day, they began to communicate regularly, and then began to visit each other.
In 2015, in Switzerland, Kevin made an offer to Blake. The words with which he reinforced the desire to be together were always “Thank you for saving my life. I love you".
Five months later, the lovers got married and are now preparing to celebrate 10 on the anniversary of that momentous day when Blake stopped Kevin from the most terrible mistake in his life.
“It couldn't be otherwise for us. Living with my husband is an adventure with incredible comfort, because first of all we are real friends, ”says Blake.
