Of course, this is a risk, danger, even stupidity. I'm not talking about getting married. I'm talking about moving to another country in order to stay there permanently.
It has always been, and probably always will be. Think of any immigrants, famous or not. As they unanimously repeated that this is a tragic step, that it is very difficult to take root on someone else's soil, that everything is incomprehensible, alien, cold and uncomfortable. Yes, upon arrival, almost all those who arrived were looking for their own people, those who had arrived earlier and could tell them the right steps and save them from serious, even dramatic mistakes. There were not always such people, and if they were, they did not necessarily hurry to help former compatriots. The reasons are different, sometimes political, sometimes class-based, sometimes just human (I don't like him, that's all) ...
But is not the point.
All the same, no matter how they try to “warm and support” you, a foreign land is a foreign land for that, because everything is foreign in it. And in most cases it is necessary to start from the beginning: language, foundations, culture, literature, rules, customs…. And this is very difficult, especially if you are already over thirty. For those who are lucky enough to get abroad at a young age, all this falls in endless ligature on a clean sheet without problems. It is not easy for us adults. After all, every new and unfamiliar immediately comes into conflict with how it was there, at home. Here - go to the right, there - to the left. Here the door is opened and held, but not there. Here they smile, there - all gloomy, as if there is a general simultaneous exacerbation of hemorrhoids.

Everything was there, native, clear and understandable. And most importantly, the very fact that it happens otherwise was unknown to us. How no one thinks that he breathes air, and, all the more, how important it is, until he was deprived of air ... And then - everything fell into place. So that's it. Everything that was a given where you came from has evaporated due to moving to another planet, which the new country, in fact, is. At first so sure.
And what's important. Many, especially older immigrant visitors, do not understand this. Despite the songs, fairy tales, verses, proverbs and sayings, TV programs and political quirks sitting in the head, from there it is necessary, if possible, completely and completely, not knowing the ford and not even being able to swim, to dive into local life. With new, so far incomprehensible songs, jokes, TV programs and political turns.
YES. This is true. And with each passing day, clinging to yesterday and to “how it was there and how much it cost”, it will become more and more difficult to do.
Therefore, dear immigrants. Do not be afraid. The worst is over. You made up your mind, you fought with yourself and with those who, perhaps, hung with a heavy anchor around your neck, loving you and trying to save you from an “unjustifiably risky step”. But you won and rushed ... I say this to those who are already in any new country. For those who are just going, or have tried and returned, this does not apply.

Immerse yourself completely in a new environment. I know sometimes it will be difficult, sad, strange and even scary. How do I know? I went through it myself. It was oh so difficult.
