1. Cities made of cardboard
Almost no historical architecture. Especially nowhere to walk. From one attraction to another you go by car.
The sights there are not at all the same as in Europe: these are not museums and cathedrals, but amusement parks and shopping streets. For example, Rodeo Drive is a street with expensive shops from the movie Pretty Woman.

2. Moving without a car is unrealistic
Public transport is not very developed, and only the poorest segments of the population use it. Once I had to use the bus - to be honest, it was scary ...
3. On the street you often feel uncomfortable
Many suspicious people, homeless people and freaks of all stripes.
Unknowingly, she somehow stayed at a hotel in a disadvantaged area of Los Angeles. The taxi driver who brought me there asked me not to get out of the car until he got out and made sure that we arrived at the correct address.
4. Tasteless food
Often even in expensive restaurants.
I suppose this is due to the fact that the products are frozen, and vegetables are harvested immature in order to withstand long-term transportation.

5. Everything_Very_ Expensive
Of course, the ruble exchange rate plays a big role here, but nonetheless.
