It is believed that TV series as a genre appeared on our television already in the post-Soviet era. Sometimes “The Meeting Place cannot be changed” and “Seventeen Moments of Spring” are considered to be serials, although they can rather be called multi-part feature films. However, the Soviet television remembers the classic sample of the series, which appeared on the air at the turn of 1971 and 1972.
The series with the trivial name “Day by Day” really described different days in the life of the residents of a communal apartment, writes Rambler Cinema. The main plot revolved around two family clans, the Yakushevs and the Banykins. Heroes talked in the kitchen on eternal themes, solved production issues, fell in love, parted, made decisions and made mistakes.
Were there and exotic for us, but the usual for the Soviet era, couples like the artist and weavers, and typical conflicts between good and very good people, and even death.

The technology of filming (using forty-minute reels) required the utmost accuracy from the artists, due to the mistake of one artist it was necessary to rewrite the series. Shilovsky was able to get from Lapin, chairman of the USSR State Television and Radio Committee, decent fees, despite the limited budget of the series.

In total, two seasons were filmed, in each - 9 and 8 series. In this case, the action of both seasons ended on New Year's Eve. Despite some naivety of the plot, the great play of actors makes the series worthy now.
