Homeschooling: Pros and Cons

If before parents who choose homeschooling, it was not very much, but now every year the number of homeschooling children (from Eng. home- home and school- school) is growing. Project umnaja.ru decided to find out why parents choose this kind of education for children.
Personal experience
Svetlana, 43 of the year:
I have three children and the youngest daughter, Sasha, I did not give to school, we are home schooled. I myself am a child psychologist by profession, I know how to work with children. Sasha was already able to read and write to four. By the time she was five, she already knew all the first-grade math. She also goes to the gym and draws. I came to the conclusion that it makes no sense to spend so much time at school, so every six months we just go to the school to which we are attached, and we pass exams. I believe that home schooling is the place to be if the parent has pedagogical training or the child engages with a tutor from time to time. Of course, we are talking about junior classes. In middle and high school, teachers are necessary, because it is simply impossible to give a child subjects at the level that the school requires. Sasha has no problems with socialization, since she goes to extra classes.
Anja, 18 years:
I have been homeschooled since 7th grade. These were the best years of my life: I got enough sleep, planned my time myself, and in the 10th and 11th grades I prepared perfectly for the Unified State Exam, so I didn’t spend a lot of time on unnecessary subjects. I already had friends from school, so there were no problems with this (by the way, they were all jealous of me). I am very grateful to my parents for giving me this opportunity. True, it didn’t work out that way with the university, so I’m learning to get up early again?
Karina, 30 years
I am a single mother, I work from home, so I decided to take care of the child myself. Now Andrei is studying in the first grade. We try to practice every day, but not always. Of course, there are difficulties, the son perceives me as a mother, not a teacher, so it is not always possible to sit him down to teach lessons, but we try. I hope that we will not fail the exams at the end of the year (laughs). Recently we went to a psychologist, she said that her son did not have very developed social skills. It upset me, so I think to give it to some circle to correct the situation.
Expert opinion
Experts say that it is still worth giving the child to school, at least in primary school, so that there are no problems with socialization. Moreover, children really take their own parents as teachers. Of course, if there is a need for this, it is quite possible to transfer a child to a high school homeschool, but it is better to spend these forces on finding a good school.
