28-year-old Patti Gomez-Mikhalkov, who won the title of Miss New York - 2018, will compete for the crown of Miss America - 2018.
The girl is beautiful, intelligent and purposeful, like other contestants, but there are several features that distinguish her from other contestants, writes Life.
The girl was born in New York, but now lives with her husband in Syracuse. Patty is a soldier in the US National Guard, senior marketing manager at a financial firm, and an honorary member of the Future Committee. In addition, she is pursuing an MA in International Relations from Harvard and is raising two dogs.
In response to the question, when she is in time, the girl laughs off: "I just do not sleep."
According to her, her achievements in life, she is largely obliged to serve in the army.
“During the service I learned this: to be in the right place, at the right time and in the right shape. I carried these rules into everyday life as well, ”said Patti.
The girl considers her special talent at the contest to be shooting at a target from 300 meters and the ability to squeeze 38 from the floor in 2 minutes.
Patti is a regular volunteer at many charities for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Now she is trying to raise 5 thousands of dollars for her charitable needs and hopes that the competition will help her in this.
The girl admitted that joining the National Guard was associated with a traumatic childhood experience. On the fateful day - September 9, 2011 - 12-year-old Patty went to a new school near the Twin Towers. During the terrorist attack, she was very scared, but a soldier approached her and said that everything would be fine.
“It remained in my memory forever and influenced my future life,” Gomez-Mikhalkov noted.
According to Patty, she is still “an ordinary New York girl”, follows her favorite teams (“Jets”, “Knicks” and “Mets”) and supports the weak.
The Miss America pageant will take place in August 2018 and she is serious about winning.
“I think this will be my best shot!” She said.
