A resident of Taiwan has received eye damage due to the fact that she constantly used the smartphone with the maximum screen brightness, writes the International Business News.
In March, 2018, the 25-year-old girl named Chen felt discomfort in her eyes. To relieve the discomfort, she used eye drops, but they did not help, writes Inforesist. After a few months, the pain only intensified, and the squirrels of the girl were filled with blood.
The girl turned to the hospital. The doctor told her that visual acuity in her left eye fell to 60 percent, and in her right eye to 30. Also on the cornea, the doctors found 500 pinholes.
According to the doctors, 25-year-old Chen's eyes look like they were “baked in the microwave”.
The reason for the damage to the eyes was the habit of the girl to use the smartphone at full screen brightness. Chen did not change the setting either in the sun outside or in the dark.
The girl was prescribed a course of steroids and restorative procedures - and gradually the condition of her eyes began to improve. Nevertheless, according to doctors, it will no longer be possible to fully restore vision.
According to the ophthalmologist professor Chung Tsitin, after two hours of using the smartphone at maximum brightness, a person can develop myopia, asthenopia, dry eye syndrome, it can also cause cataracts and retinopathy.
