Every year, Chapman University conducts research to find out what US residents fear the most. What frightened Americans in 2020, says the author of the blog "ABC of an Immigrant" Yandex Zen.
10 place. Save enough money for the future (55,7%)
Those who are accustomed to sitting on the neck of the state (subsidized housing, food stamps, benefits and allowances) can live in the United States without savings. But that's not all. The majority of the US population is concerned about securing their lives in the present and setting aside funds for the future. The fears of Americans are related to the fact that savings may not be enough. And here everyone makes a choice: to live now, without denying themselves excesses, or to save for the future.
9 place. Global warming and climate change (57,1%)
Residents of the United States really pay great attention to the problem of climate change, as well as to everything related to natural phenomena. Everyone knows: if a snow storm / thunderstorm / hurricane, etc. is coming, Americans go to supermarkets and buy goods, as in case of a nuclear war. Solving the problem of global warming is one of the provisions of the program of the newly elected President Joe Biden. Apparently, political strategists study the values of the population and know what to focus on.

While the next cyber attack from Russia and the introduction of new sanctions are being discussed at the presidential level, ordinary Americans believe that their phone is being watched, eavesdropped and spied on. Therefore, the security system is a priority at any level: from the access code to the smartphone to the reliability of bank accounts.

Elon Musk knows what technologies need to be developed. Now Tesla is not only prestigious and expensive, but also environmentally friendly. Another more fundamental example is Central Park in New York. This is the largest park in Manhattan. And it is rightfully called the lungs of the island. Can you imagine how many skyscrapers could be built there, how much money could be earned? But this park provides the metropolis with clean air, which is incomparable with any money.
5 place. Death of loved ones (62,9%)
Here, Americans are no different from representatives of other countries. Losing loved ones is the worst thing that can happen.
4 place. Drinking water pollution (64,6%)
Residents of the United States are accustomed to drinking tap water. However, in recent years, sales of filters and water treatment systems have increased. While some are buying filters, others are protesting against throwing waste into the water. And there are more and more such activists.
