The Big Gender Model: Revelations of the Androgynous Model Rain Dove
The American model Raine Dove was born and raised in Vermont, on her parents' farm. At school, Rhine teased Denny - transuh (Tranny danny), moreover, for a long time, Dove did not understand the meaning of the word tgirl and did not take offense at classmates. She thought it was someone who loved trains.
Since childhood, Raine was very tall (1,88 m), muscular, with typical male features that gave her an unusual charm and sexuality. After training, Rhine tried herself in various male professions - from a locksmith to a fireman, and then suddenly went into the modeling business. Dove casually passed the casting to display a collection of underwear Calvin Klein. Since then - this is the main activity for the Rhine.
«If I think of myself as a woman, then the clothes that I wear become female, no matter what label the manufacturer attached to it. If my image is masculine, then all the things I choose automatically become masculine."- says Dove.
Raine calls himself a gender capitalist and does not hide the fact that he benefits from the fact that she is often mistaken for a man or a transgender woman.
«We decide who we are to be. Though aliens. And if I decide to become an alien, then the clothes on me will be alien, without designation of female or male”, - explains his position Rein.
The adoption of androgyny allowed Raine Dove to live a more complete life, devoid of any conventions. She fights for gender diversity and works to break down gender stereotypes. In her childhood and youth, she did not perceive herself as an androgyne, but simply suffered from the fact that she considered herself an ugly girl.
"I never felt bad about this, I just thought I was such a girl. After I spent some time in the wilderness of a fire department, I felt more confident in my duality and sexuality when it came to gender presentation.”Says Rain.
She is often mistaken for a man, but she has learned not to be offended about this and does not want to prove to anyone that this is not so.
"When I was a fireman, people thought that I was a man. I agreed with this because I really needed a job, I was in Colorado. Therefore, I used the flexibility of my gender as something that gave me the experience of many strange works, from nanny to landscape architecture specialist”Says Rain.
After Raine was denied one of the castings because of her appearance, explaining that neither readers nor advertisers recognize a woman in her, she made her own art project. Raine put on the brand's underwear Victoria's Secret и photographed in the same poses as the models in the catalog. And then she pasted portraits of cut models over her face. Victoria's Secret.
«I have big breasts, I am tall and walk well in heels. And this is enough to become a model in a women's swimsuit."- says Dove.
«We all desperately want to be unique, but the easiest way to achieve this is to be ourselves. Gender does not exist, it’s just another social construct that you don’t have to adapt to. There are people who love you and who will continue to love you. There are people who accept you and will continue to receive you, just like me"Says Rain Dove.
