A resident of the US state of Alabama removed a huge ovarian cyst. 30-year-old Kayla Ran complained about overweight and pain for about a year. Surrounding suspected that a woman is in late pregnancy and even waiting for twins.
Doctors to whom she addressed, recommended her to lose weight. The woman tried to follow their advice, but nothing helped, says Segodnya.
“I really looked like I was nine months pregnant,” says Ran. According to her, one day someone decided that she would have twins.
The true cause of her problems came out after the tests she did in May. In Ran, they found a mucinous cystadenoma, a benign tumor of the ovary. The woman was operated on and the tumor, weighing more than 20 pounds, was removed.
Gynecologist Gregory Jones, who participated in the operation, said that it was one of the largest cysts he had ever seen.
Both benign and malignant neoplasms can really enlarge the abdomen to such an extent that the woman herself will suspect pregnancy. Earlier we wrote that instead of a child, a British woman gave birth to a cancerous tumor - and this case, unfortunately, is not the only one.
