The wife of the performer, musician Leonid Agutin, 26 told the press in April that the Winter Cherry song, which is so popular in the 1990s, still does not return to the repertoire of Angelica Varum because of the associations with the tragedy in Kemerovo.
“We felt sad about the fact that it was a good song, very sorry,” Agutin noted, as reported Rambler.
The musician stressed that in the indefinite future, if the song ceases to cause associations with a fire in the Winter Cherry shopping center, Varum can return the composition to the repertoire.
“Now it is not possible at all,” he said.
The fire in the Kemerovo Zimnyaya Chery shopping center occurred on March 25. 60 people died. The criminal case is being investigated under three articles, including arson, while the main cause of the fire is the closure of electrical wiring. Several people were arrested in the case, and a negligence case was initiated against one of the firefighters.
Angelica Varum's song "Winter Cherry" was included in the artist's album of the same name, which was released in 1996 year.
