According to the edition Mindfulness, people who systematically practice yoga and meditation - including at the level of amateurs - demonstrate better performance of the brain and are much more successful in controlling the manifestations of emotions compared to those who do not practice yoga.
Peter Hall, a neurophysiologist and lead research expert, puts it this way: “Both yoga and meditation force a person to concentrate on solving a minimal set of tasks - controlling their breathing and body position. In addition, these activities give him the opportunity to isolate his consciousness from all unnecessary. "
According to the scientist, a good habit that is formed in the course of conscious concentration and meditation is easily and successfully transferred to everyday life - it becomes easier for you to focus on what is really important. Uncontrollable outbursts of emotions and general anxiety decrease, and most importantly, all this happens inside a person, calming him and helping him to look constructively at his own life and tasks. His colleague, Kimberly Luu, reports that the real reason for such positive changes has not yet been clarified, however, suppressing "noise" and internal dialogue does indeed have a beneficial effect on a person's productivity and sense of self.
Previously, scientists have already argued that practicing meditation and yoga increase the level of the hormone of happiness, and also have a positive effect on women's health, helping to improve hormonal levels and well-being, reducing stress and increasing resistance to stress.
