American woman found guilty of driving 18-year-old boyfriend to suicide

A Massachusetts judge convicted 20-year-old Michelle Carter (Michelle carter) in bringing her boyfriend, 18-year-old Konrad Roy to suicide. In 2014, he committed suicide by poisoning himself with carbon monoxide in a car.
Michelle faces up to 20 years in prison for unintentional homicide. She brought her boyfriend to suicide by SMS, reports CNN.
The trial has been going on for over two years now. During the verdict of the juvenile judge Bristol Lawrence Moniz, the girl cried and looked repentant. The final sentence of the judge will read 3 August. Until that time, Carter remains at large. She was released on bail immediately after being charged. She is forbidden to use the Internet for any purpose other than student assignments, travel outside the state without a judge’s permission, and contact with relatives of Conrad Roy.
As proof of guilt, Carter provided more than 20 thousands of SMS messages in which the girl urged the guy to suicide.
“You will finally go to heaven and be happy. No more pain. It's okay that you are afraid. You are planning to die, ”Michelle wrote to Conrad.
On the day of the suicide, the guy doubted: when carbon monoxide began to enter the car, he felt bad and got out of the car in panic. He wrote Michelle a message in which he admitted that he was scared. In response, Konrad received a short message: "Come back." He returned to the car and soon suffocated on carbon monoxide.
According to the judge, Michelle did nothing to save the boy, knowing about his attempted suicide. She did not call the police and did not warn his family. She didn't even try to stop him.
“The court considers that Carter's behavior led to the death of Mr. Roy,” the judge stated.
According to various experts, Michel is unlikely to be sentenced to such a long prison term.
