A resident of a nursing home in Vermont, Betty Miller, 70 years old, made a toxic substance and carried out his tests on other old people living in the same institution, writes Chicago Tribune.
Miller made her own poisonous ricin, which she discreetly added to the food and drink of the residents of the nursing home. The “inventor's” experiment lasted for several weeks. When the woman was arrested by agents of the US FBI, she said that she simply wanted to “evaluate the effectiveness” of the drug.
For the manufacture of poison, a woman collected castor beans and in the kitchen of the establishment made them a dangerous poison. Retired neighbors got ricin at least 3 times. When the FBI conducted a search, they found bubbles with the appropriate inscriptions inside which the poison powder was found.
Now Miller is under arrest. At trial, it turned out that the woman had been mentally ill for some time. The nursing home administration claims that the health of the injured is all right.
