The American woman sued the hotel company Hilton Worldwide after she was filmed on a hidden camera in a hotel in New York, NBC News reported.
According to the victim, the video was made back in 2015 year, but she only found out about it recently. In September, the woman received a letter referring to the footage, which was published on an adult site with her full name, writes RIA News.
She notes that the unknown asked to send another video of an intimate nature and demanded to pay him several thousand dollars. Having received a refusal, he posted a video on other sites and sent it to his female colleagues.
According to the lawsuit, the victim intends to recover from the company $ 100 million for moral damages. According to her lawyer, the attacker is probably “one of the hotel employees or someone who has direct access to the rooms.”
The company said it was “shocked” by the incident.
“The safety of our guests is a priority for us, and we strongly condemn this violation of privacy,” the statement said.
“The hotel underwent extensive renovations recently and we did not find any recording devices,” added Hilton. The company promised to cooperate with the authorities in the investigation of the incident.
