The Sochi environmental prosecutor’s office exposed photographers in Sochi (Russia), who on a viewing platform near the village of Monastery offered tourists to take a picture with a chow-chow puppy, passing it off as a panda cub, reports TASS.
The check was initiated upon the appearance in social networks of information that photographers use the panda listed in the Red Book, as well as other animals, as one of their models.
It turned out that the dog was repainted under the panda and misled having a rest.
In addition to the puppy, a monkey and a donkey were seized from the photographers.
The prosecutor's office intends to find out whether the owners have documents on animals, and also to find out whether they have subjected their pets to ill-treatment.
Information about people who made joint pictures of everyone with a panda, as well as with several other animals, was published earlier in July in the VKontakte community “Typical Sochi”.
Tourists in Sochi were offered this service on a viewing platform near the village of Monastery, located in the Adler district of a Krasnodar resort. The report noted that animals suffer from heat.
