Personal experience: how much is a month of life in Sacramento

Very often, new arrivals (or even those who are going to) wonder how much it costs to live in the US per month? On the example of Sacramento, I will now try to tell.
The first is rental housing. We pay $ 770 a month for it, and this is a one-bedroom (in Russian two-room) apartment, for two-bedroom you have to be ready to pay $ 900 a month. Naturally, somewhere in our district you can rent a little cheaper, somewhere more expensive, but so far our housing is completely satisfied with the price and quality.
Communal apartment We pay 8-10 $ per month for gas and around 25-30 $ for light. Everything, more in utility expenses we do not include anything.
Internet and telephone. We pay 55 $ per month for high-speed Internet, 65 $ for two phones. We basically did not connect the television, as there is simply no time to watch, and you can watch any film online, too, if it does.
Nutrition. We practically do not eat somewhere in a cafe, because, firstly, we love our home, secondly, it’s cheaper and healthier, thirdly, again there’s no time. Kirill brought pizza a couple of times from work, but that was all. We get about 450 $ per month for food, and with this money we allow ourselves everything we want. Naturally, this is not a daily black caviar, but we do not sit on rice either.
Small household expenses. On all sorts of creams, shampoos, diapers, etc., it takes about 100 $ per month.
Car. Maintenance, insurance and gasoline - about $ 175 per month.
Health insurance. Very big and open question! It all depends on the employer, on the insurance plan, on the state, after all. Somewhere you can finance child insurance at the expense of the state budget, while you are newcomers and with no income, or with low income, are given out to everyone somewhere, including adults under the same conditions, somewhere in any case only at their own expense. By the roughest estimates, insurance for three will cost about 300 $ per month.
Rest. About 150 $ per month should be laid on any entertainment, clothing, unforeseen purchases.
Thus, in fact, we have 2000-2100 $ per month.
Naturally, everything is very individual, and, naturally, the lion's share of expenses is consumed by housing (in large cities it will start from $ 2-2,5 thousand per month).
Or if you are a shopaholic and only spend $ 500 on clothes every month. Or, for example, in your city you do not need a car, as in New York, and accordingly there will be no costs for it. But an expense line will appear - public transport. Everyone also eats differently, in different quantities and food of different quality.
But the approximate algorithm is as follows.
