101-year-old woman from New York State, who was born during the Spanish flu pandemic in 1918, recovered from coronavirus disease COVID-19, writes bykvu.
It is noted that Angelina Friedman survived cancer, miscarriage, internal bleeding, sepsis and now not one, but two pandemics.
The administrator of the nursing home, where Friedman lives, said that the woman, having had COVID-19, had already returned to her former life and was glad of her as if nothing had happened.
A photo of the recovered Angelina with a sign: “I am 101 years old and I won COVID-19” was posted on the North Westchester Restorative Therapy & Nursing Center Facebook page.
Angelina Schiales (now Friedman) was born in 1918 on a ship that transported immigrants from Italy to New York. It was in the midst of the 1918 epidemic - and the child contracted the disease.
Her mother died in childbirth, and her two sisters helped the woman survive, after which the children reunited with their father in New York, where they lived in Brooklyn.
At the moment, Friedman is the last surviving child of 11 children who were in the family.
“She is not a man. She has superhuman DNA, ”said her daughter Joan Merola.
